New Gas and Electric Hob Installation in Walsall

A homeowner in Walsall recently got in touch because they were having their kitchen updated and needed new appliances fitted properly. They had chosen a built-in gas hob and a built-in electric oven, both from Beko, picked up through B&Q. They wanted everything recessed neatly into the kitchen units for a clean, fitted look. That meant the installation needed to be done carefully so the appliances sat flush and worked safely from day one.

What the Job Involved

There were two separate appliances to fit here, and they each needed a different kind of connection. The gas hob connects to the gas supply in the kitchen. The electric oven connects to a dedicated electrical circuit. Both needed to be recessed into the unit so that only the front face of each appliance shows, with nothing protruding or out of place.

Before I touched anything, I checked the existing gas supply point and made sure everything was in order. All gas work I carry out is done to Gas Safe standards. I am Gas Safe registered, which means I am legally qualified to work on gas appliances in your home. That registration matters because gas work done by someone who is not qualified is not just illegal, it is dangerous.

Fitting the Gas Hob

The Beko gas hob was recessed down into the worktop cutout. I connected it to the gas supply using the correct fittings and tested the connection thoroughly before anything was sealed up. Each burner was checked to make sure the flame was burning correctly and that there were no leaks anywhere on the connection. Once I was satisfied everything was right, the hob was secured in place and sitting level in the unit.

Fitting the Electric Oven

The Beko electric oven was built into the housing unit below. It was recessed back into the cabinet so the door and controls sit flush with the surrounding units. The oven was connected to the dedicated supply and tested to check all functions were working as they should before I signed the job off.

The Finished Result

Once both appliances were in, the kitchen looked exactly as the homeowner had hoped. The hob and oven sit neatly in the units with no gaps or untidy finishes around the edges. Everything is connected correctly, tested, and ready to use. The homeowner had a fully working kitchen setup with appliances that are both safe and fitted to a proper standard.
